Al-Qurna Beach… A Point on Earth Where Truth and Legend MeetKnights of Dialogue

Here, where the earth embraces the water, and where history intertwines with legend, I found myself standing on the shore of Al-Qurna.

In this sacred spot, not only do the Tigris and Euphrates meet, but the past meets the present, and memory embraces hope.

It was a journey to the heart of Iraq, to a place that breathes the essence of Sumerian and Akkadian civilizations, and tells stories of the Garden of Eden.

The air was humid and sweet, whispering the secrets of the towering palms adorning the banks. I stood watching the meeting of the two rivers, like lovers long separated, embracing after a long journey across Mesopotamia. The Tigris flowed swiftly, carrying tales from the north, from the Taurus Mountains and the bustling ancient cities. The Euphrates, calmer, glided proudly, carrying the golden sands of the desert and whispers from distant oases.

The scene was more than just the confluence of two rivers; it was a visual poem unlike any other. The muddy brown of the Tigris met the clear waters of the Euphrates, forming a beautiful blend symbolizing Iraq’s unity and diversity. The trees swayed gently, as if dancing in celebration of this great meeting, with birds nesting among them, singing songs of joy with the first rays of the Iraqi dawn.

In that moment, I felt the weight of history casting its shadows upon me. I imagined the Sumerian caravans passing along these banks, and how they witnessed the glory and grandeur of Babylon. Al-Qurna has stood as a silent witness to all this, holding secrets that have yet to be revealed.

Finally, I was here… my spirit intertwined with the spirit of the place. I realized that Al-Qurna is not just a geographic point on the map. It is the beating heart of Iraq, where life renews itself, trees grow, and legend merges with reality. It is a natural painting crafted by a skilled artist, speaking beauty and singing to life.

I left Al-Qurna behind, but it did not leave my soul. I still hear the whispers of the two rivers and see the reflection of its palms in my eyes…
