Dialogue is a bridge for rapprochement and an effective tool for spreading peace.

Written by: Sharistan Blo – Sinjar

Among the experiences that leave a deep impact on the soul, my participation in the “Education on Dialogue and Acceptance of the Other” camp was a rich and inspiring experience on various levels.

This initiative provided me with a rare opportunity to learn about diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, opening new horizons for understanding others away from stereotypes and preconceived notions. Through this participation, I realized that religions, despite their differences, share fundamental human values, and that we need to focus on these commonalities instead of delving into points of contention.

Iraq, with its diverse religious and ethnic composition, needs more of these events that encourage dialogue and reinforce the concepts of coexistence. Dialogue, as I discovered during these days, is not just a conversation, but an effective tool for spreading peace, building trust, and enhancing shared citizenship.

It was a unique and meticulously organized opportunity that bridged distances. During this time, I gained important experiences through exchanging conversations with participants and formed new friendships that will remain a beautiful memory in my mind.
