Masarat Foundation participated in the conference held at the Conference Palace titled “Combating Hate Speech and Rebuilding Trust in Iraqi Society.” The conference witnessed contributions from a select group of official, political, religious, and academic figures from various segments of Iraqi society and included two specialized sessions featuring experts and researchers.
In the first session of the conference, moderated by media figure Thaer Al-Hassnawi, the general coordinator of the foundation summarized the results of the work of the Hate Speech Monitoring and Response Center at Masarat Foundation by analyzing the role of media in opposing hate speech. He also discussed the draft law to criminalize hate speech that a specialized committee at the foundation has been working on, in addition to other related projects aimed at containing hate speech.
