National Center to Combat Hatred Launches its Training Program

The first workshop to train volunteers to observe, monitor and analyze hate speeches started in Basrah within the context of the first phase of the work plan of the National Center to Combat Hate Speech in Iraq. In this workshop, 18 volunteers, males and females, of interested journalists, civil activists and media workers participated.

It is hoped that workshops continue in Basrah throughout this week, in three parallel groups, then they will coincide with launching the program in Sulaymaniya and Baghdad.

The Center, which is considered an annex to MSMD Foundation, announced that its agenda for this year includes training 800 volunteers as a starting point for combating hatred produced by the media, politicians and clergymen.

It is worth noting that the National Center to Combat Hate-Speech was established officially in Beirut mid-March in cooperation between MSMD and  Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung of Germany, with the participation of 17 Iraqi figures, including university professors, clergymen, civil activists and media workers.
