Basrah Continues its Preparation to Combat Hate Speeches

In parallel with the workshop of clergymen of Baghdad, 20 youth of different religious and ethnic groups started the second workshop of its type in Basrah to train them on how to observe, monitor and analyze hate speeches in Iraq.

Participants in this voluntary workshop received intensive training courses on hate speeches, how to observe them, analyze and combat them. Mr. Bassam Al-Alawchi, Director of Larsa Organization in Basrah presented and moderated the training.

It is worth stating that this workshop is art of a program consisting of 40 workshops to be conducted in different regions of Iraq to develop a workforce of 800 volunteers of different backgrounds in the National Center to Combat Hate-Speech in MSMD Foundation, in cooperation with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung of Germany.

Masarat Foundation for Cultural and Media Development awarded the Positive Digital Impact Certificate to Sayyid Dr. Zaid Bahr Al-Uloom in recognition of his role in promoting a moderate, hate-free digital discourse throughout 2025.
