As part of the “Through Dialogue We Remain and Rise” camp activities, participants took part over two days in an intensive workshop aimed at empowering them in media content creation.
The workshop included training designed to enable participants to produce digital content that promotes dialogue mechanisms among followers of different religions and fosters understanding of others through social media platforms.
The workshop was held at the House of Coexistence in Sinjar, where participants shared their expertise in editing, photography, event coverage, using hashtags, and identifying and addressing hate speech.
This workshop is part of the Education for Dialogue and Understanding Others program, launched by the Masarat Foundation for Cultural and Media Development in collaboration with KAICIID and the House of Coexistence, in preparation for launching the first joint platform for dialogue among young followers of different religions in Iraq, aiming to promote understanding of others.
The “Through Dialogue We Remain and Rise” camp began in Baghdad with the participation of young people from Sinjar, joined later by youth from Baghdad in the first phase. It then moved to Basra, where young men and women from Basra joined the team, followed by Dhi Qar and the Nineveh Plain, and then entered the Old City of Mosul. The camp has now reached Sinjar and its surroundings and will continue its tour soon across other Iraqi cities in a program aimed at promoting dialogue as a means to build peace among followers of different religions and to reject hate speech.
