At the invitation of His Highness Prince Hassan bin Talal, President of the Arab Thought Forum and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hassan bin Talal Center for Qudos Studies, the General Coordinator of Masarat participated in the proceedings of the Conference of Qudos Historians.
Dr. Saad Salloum delivered a lecture focusing on the spiritual and symbolic dimensions of Qudos in Middle Eastern culture, as well as the related legal and political aspects.
Among the most notable outcomes of the conference, which brought together leading historians of Qudos from around the world and the Arab region, was the establishment of an Eastern Heritage Foundation that connects the Levant spiritually and culturally, a focus on managing the religious space in Qudos, and an emphasis on the legal dimension. There was also a call to strengthen the presence of Qudos in academic and cultural awareness by relying on field methodology to connect antiquities, topography, customs, and religion, while avoiding the politicization of the holy city.
The closing statement of the conference emphasized the necessity of establishing a humanitarian investment body that unites the goals of those working in institutions dedicated to preserving religious and community heritage and their endowments, and to drawing up a comprehensive investment plan for all endowments.
The statement also highlighted the need to strengthen the relationship between historians and archaeologists through research and academic institutions from various countries to revive an academic knowledge renaissance for Qudos , allowing the narrative of Qudos to enter prominent libraries and research and study centers around the world.
