The General Coordinator of Masarat Foundation presented a discussion on the difference between war and genocide at the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad during “Iraqi Anthropology Day.” The day was dedicated to the topic of war from the perspectives of natural and cultural anthropology and politics.
Masarat’s Documentation Experience
The General Coordinator reviewed Masarat’s experience in its academic scientific project (One Hundred Years of Genocide), which included the publication of several specialized volumes on cases of genocide in Iraq and the region, such as the book (100 Years of the Armenian Genocide), and the documentary book “The Final Decree” about the genocide witnessed in Sinjar against the Yazidi minority. The third book (Merciless: An Iraqi House Sealed with Red Wax) provides a poignant testimony about the forced displacement and terrifying uprooting of citizens from the Faily minority. The fourth book (A Sun in the Face of Darkness) includes a bold adventure to record feminist readings by researchers from diverse spaces and cultures about the experience of a Yazidi survivor. Lastly, the book (Genocide in the Middle East) reviews the forgotten genocides over the past hundred years.
