A group of 110 people of those who participated in the camp of coexistence visited the holy temple of Lalish.
The group which consisted of students, teachers and mothers were introduced to the temple and the details of the rituals and the culture of the Yazidi religion which is considered to be one of the most ancient religions in the country.
During the visit, the media and relations officer in Lalish temple Luqman Soliman presented a detailed explanation of the Yazidi customs and traditions and pointed out the meaning of Yazidi popular names and also the names of the festivals and anniversaries that Yazidi people celebrate in.
A meeting with the Pope of Lalish temple Jaweesh Sadan also happened during the visit. The Pope presented to the participants an overall vision of the meaning of the main Yazidi rituals.
Furthermore, the participants got an opportunity to spend the whole day with Yazidi families to exchange experiences and to get a full image of how Yazidi people suffered through all that time as a result of the religious persecution.
