Masarat/ Frankfurt The ZÊD Foundation announced that Dr. Saad Salloum won its prize for human solidarity. The award ceremony took place at the State Museum in Frankfurt. The event was attended by the state’s Prime Minister and members of parliament in Frankfurt, along with representatives of religions and sects in the state, and Yazidi leaders and elites from inside and outside Germany. The event was held to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the Yazidi genocide on August 3, 2023. Dr. Salloum is the first person from the Islamic world to win the award, which was previously granted to high-ranking German figures such as the head of the German Social Democratic Party, the Prime Minister of the state of Baden-Württemberg, and the head of Germany’s Green Party.
