50 Christian and Muslimactivists received intensive training sessions on the observation and analysis of hate speeches at the Chaldean Church of St. Korkis in Baghdad.The workshop, which was given by Father Mayser Al-Mukhlisi, the patron of the church, some interventions which enriched the training carried out bySaadSalloum,the general coordinator of Masarat Foundation (MCMD). The workshop was moderated by Manal Afham, the director of the Youth Brotherhood in the church, in presence of Father Ryan Bakos, Saturday evening, 19 May 2018. The workshop was concluded with a breakfast for Muslim fasting people prepared by the Christian participants as a practical initiative of solidarity in the face of hate speech, and it was called “Breakfast of Love”.
It is worth to mention that the workshop is part of a program that includes training 800 volunteers throughout Iraq, representing the Monitoring and Analysis Team at the National Center for Combating Hate Speech at Masarat Foundation (MCMD) in cooperation with the German institution of Konrad-Adenauer.
