MCMD conducted a workshop on the journalistic writing mechanisms in covering the minorities and peace-building issues.
The training was presented by Father Dr. Ameer Jaji, the Papal Advisor for Religious Dialogue, who explained a bundle of facts and views which can enhance citizenship and unify society despite ethnic and religious affiliation. He also highlighted the importance of the media in helping governments ensure applying the principle of citizenship and pushing forward the country for a better future.
In addition, Prince Nyif bin Dawood bin Salman, member of Supreme Yazidi Independent Council, participated by presenting a detailed picture of Yazidism as being an identity and religion, to a group of journalists and media-people participating in the workshop.
This workshop which lasted for two days is the second one organized by MCMD within the context of Mesopotamian Youth, in cooperation with the EU, to train 100 media-people from all the regions and provinces of Iraq, as part of MCMD’s campaign to introduce the minorities and highlight their role in peace building in Iraqi society.
