A number of religious, civil, media and academic leaders have agreed on establishing a national center to monitor hate speech in Iraq. This came within the recommendations of the annual conference held by MSMD this week in Basra. The Center is tasked with curbing hate speeches that largely spread in Iraq last year. It is hoped that the establishing committee of the Center will meet early next month to draft the charter of association, and setting its objectives, vision and work mechanisms of work in the center as well as its administration. The establishment of the center is one of fourteen sub-plans that MSMD will start working on during 2018-2019 to address hate speech recommended by the annual conference in Basra held under the slogan “By Combating the hatreds we promote peace and enhance humanity.”
