Civil and Media Committee, affiliated to Masarat Foundation for Cultural and Media Development, held its meeting within the framework of an advocacy for the abovementioned law.The meeting has discussed the stages that the law has passed and the suggested plans for the next stages. Therefore, the participants posed their working plans over the period from 1/8/2016 to 1/2/2016.They talked about the required steps for implementing these plans and its effects on bringing the law into light.Talib Noroz, a member of civil and media committee, said that the committee is doing its best to support other parties seeking to bring the law into effect, saying that the law serves all Iraqis irrespective of their religious, ethnic backgrounds. That is, those who face forced displacement can benefit from the law.Noroz urges parties of different strategies to unite in an effort to find solid a solution for the phenomenon of displacement in Iraq.Amil Saqir, a journalist at Monte Carlo agency, said the law is clearly neglected by the Iraqi parliament, so it is our duty to bring it into light, urging local and international journalists to support it.Amina al-Dahabi, Manager of the project, shed light on the humanitarian and legal reasons behind enacting that law; she also said that a number of positive results could be harvested from that law such as getting rid of administrative and financial corruption that destroys the seriousness and credibility of committees dealing with crises, especially the displaced one.A number of civil society activists and media professionals supporting the law attended the meeting.
