Following the latest wave of displacement which swept across Iraq, especially in provinces where military operations take place Masarat foundation for cultural and media development launched on Monday its campaign to enact a law of displaced protection.
Mr. Saad Salloum the general coordinator of Masarat mentioned that the campaign stemmed from a field study of displaced situation carried out by a team comprised sociologists, psychologists, and specialists volunteers who visited many places where displaced live right now, consequently they came to a conclusion that the displaced residential areas lack of life necessities such as food, health, education and other rights.
A referendum elucidated the aim of the campaign promoting pluralism and countering challenges, which face displaced amid uncertain time ceiling for liberating their cities was conducted on websites, conferences and workshops, and then it managed to get up to thirteen thousand supporters.
Countering challenges of displaced in the south, center and north of Iraq is the principal aim of that law, which seeks to keep their constitutional rights Mr. Salloum said.
In her comments to Information agency Mrs. Amina Al_Dahabi, the manager of the project underlined that three teams of media, legal and field sides were formed for that campaign, adding that the media and field teams kicked off their activates in terms of data base for legal team, so the latter makes use of these data , and studied the same laws which were followed by other countries in an attempt to write a law draft , which was submitted to a parliamentary committee to bring it into effect.
Apparently, Iraq witnesses a wave of displacement since 2014 for military operations which take place in many cities.
