The Masarat Foundation for Cultural and Media Development participated in the National Forum for Iraq’s Components organized by the High Commission for Human Rights in Iraq, held at the Middle East University.
The forum was attended by the #United_Nations_Mission and representatives of the country’s religious and ethnic components, in addition to a group of activists and academics
Dr. Saad Salloum, the General Coordinator of the Masarat Foundation, participated as the main speaker in the forum’s main session, which included three interventions. The first was by the advisor to the Prime Minister, Mr. Saad Mazloom Al-Abdali, He spoke about the participation of political minorities, while Dr. Rami Joseph Agajan, the head of the Christian Endowment Bureau, presented a vision on the importance of including definitions of Iraq’s various components in school curricula, praising Masarat work in defending the rights of these components.
The General Coordinator of Masarat presented a vision on the development of civil society’s work in recognizing the rights of different components, highlighting Masarat pioneering role over nearly two decades in drafting and proposing laws to protect these components and launching initiatives to combat hate speech and special programs on citizenship education.
