Sports Hatreds… South Korea and Iraq

Since yesterday, when #SouthKorea won against our team, 16 news agencies in Korea have been monitored in both Korean and English, along with 50 pages on Facebook, X, and Instagram.

Everyone is happy with the victory and their team’s success, criticizing defensive mistakes and pointing out weaknesses in their team.
We have not observed any #hate_speech #towards Iraq, neither religious nor sectarian nor ethnic nor extremist, nor belittling of any Iraqi player, nor gloating, nor insults, nor humiliation.
This means… Korea… zero hatred.

On the other hand, in Iraq, there are very limited hate speeches, not exceeding 9 hate messages towards the Korean team within 24 hours of monitoring 1500 accounts on the same platforms.

Question…? Why do hate speeches escalate when Arab teams play against each other?
