Netherland Ambassador in his Visit to MASARAT: Combating Hatred and Enhancing Diversity are Guarantees for the Future of Iraq

His excellency  Matthijs Wolters, ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Iraq visited MCMD Institution. He was received by Mr. Saad Salloum, MCMD General Coordinator and three of the founders of the National Center to Combat Hate-Speech in MSMD, namely, Mr. Khalil Al-Jundi, Minister plenipotentiary at the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Iraq, Nadia Fadhil, Director of Mandaean Endowments Council and Mr. Faez Basheer, Bishop of Anglican Church in Iraq.

His excellency explained his country’s policy in supporting the religious minorities affairs, such as Yazidis of Sinjar and Christians Ninawa plains. Representatives of religious minority groups explained to him the main challenges that encounter religious diversity in the post-ISIS era.

Furthermore, his Excellency was informed about the National Center’s Strategy in combating hate-speeches of this year as well as MCMD’s initiative to revive Christian lore starting from the historical church of Korki.
