A Workshop for Combating Hate Speech is Launched in a Mosque in Baghdad

In Al-Samara’i Mosque in Baghdad in Al-Mansour District, the first workshop in the National Center to Combat Hatred training program started this morning. In this workshop which is conducted in parallel with the workshop of Basrah, 40 volunteers from among the mosque imams and religious sheikhs of Baghdad and students of religious schools have participated.

The workshop moderated by Sheikh Amer Al-Nimrawi, Director of Moderation Gathering in Iraq, in cooperation with Sheikh Dr. Abdulla Al-Isawi and Sheikh Mohammed Sabah.

It is worth stating that “Combating Hate Speech” Project is launched by MSMD, with the support of the German institution of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, which announced mid-March establishing the National Center to Combat Hate Speeches. This center started training 800 volunteers as a starting line to observe,  analyze and combat hate speeches in Iraq.
