For an entire week, 15 intermediate schools in Al-Anbar province participated in a workshop for free drawing in cooperation with MASARAT Institution for Cultural and Media Development and the Directorate of Education of Al-Anbar and UNICEF, along with assistance from Germany. About 2250 boy and girl from Fallouja, Ramadi, Khalidiyya, Amiriya and Habaniyya participated in 155 drawing sessions in which they themselves chose their subjects. This activity comes in context of the project of “Awareness activities on Life Skills to Enhance the Values of Participation and Peace Building in Al-Anbar Province” which targets 6500 individual from the 5-15 age group, aiming to mitigate the psychological crisis they experienced when ISIS took control of their cities and the following liberation operations, in addition to restoring peace, and developing the will inside the children to share their ideas with others in the public life. The participants in the workshops exposed various levels of skill in drawing and painting to express themselves. They spent two hours of relaxation in every session and these hours produced many paintings which will be exhibited by MASARAT in an art gallery soon.
