MCMD continues training and qualifying volunteers to work on the project of observing, analyzing and combating Hate Speeches in Iraq.
In this context, MCMD trained 34 volunteers divided on two workshops for two days to form the second phase of the Team of Combating Hate Speeches in Baghdad.
It is expected that they join the three departments of the National Center for Combating Hate Speeches to receive more specialized trainings in the fields of observing, analysis and addressing hate speeches conveyed to the public via the media channels and religious pulpits and political speeches .
MCMD, having established the National Center for Combating Hate Speeches in Iraq, with the participation of 12 religious, political, academia and media figures, along with five members from the representatives of religious groups and civil activists, hopes to reduce and eliminate hate speeches, which reached in 2017 to 17 hate messages per day.
