General Coordinator of MCMD and researcher in minorities’ issues, Saad Salloum is awarded Stefanus International Prize for religious freedoms, in Oslo, Norway.
The ceremony was chaired by Mr. Knut Vollebæk, former Foreign Minister, with the presence of the ambassador of Iraq in Norway, along with some international political, civil and media figures.
This award goes to Mr. Salloum and Dominican priest Father Ameer Jiji as a culmination for their continuous and diligent work in the field of religious freedoms, spreading the culture of dialogues and the acceptance of the Other in Iraq throughout more than 14 years in MCMD, establishing the Iraqi Council for Interfaith Dialogue, as well as the National Center for Combating Hate Speech this year.
Stefanus International Prize for religious freedoms is the highest prize for religious freedoms in Europe. It was established in 2005 by Stefanus Alliance International Foundation, and it is awarded every two years since 2008.
