In a press conference held in Baghdad, Msarat launched its comprehensive report on freedom of beliefs in Iraq.The conference was attended by representatives of Yazidis, Christians,Mandaeand and other minorities.The 100-page report talked about sensitive issues that link to violations of minority’s rights, such as Islamizing the underage.The first part of the report discussed situations of religious minorities, Christians, Yazidis and Mandaeans.The second part devoted to minorities that get no official recognition of its existence, such as Zoroastrians ,Baha’is, Kak’is and Jews.
SaadSalloum, general director of Masarat, gave a short description of the report, saying the report discussesthe stereotypes and challenges that religious freedoms face, In addition to discrimination, especially in terms of official registration and complex measures of building worshipping temples.Staarjbaar, chief of Mandaeans, gave recommendations of the report with respect to religious leaders.MrsMishaalMitti, a representative of Christian’s institutions, gave also recommendations of the report with regard to education.Mrs. Nadia Fathl, boss of Mandaeans’ institutions, gave recommendation that deal with minority’s women. Irada al-Jibbori talked about media.This report is part of a series of reports deal with violations of minority’s rights in post- ISIS rise in Iraq. That is, reports on violations of minority’s rights and their political participation have issued earlier this report.
